Our musings on the sense of being a celebrity

October 17, 2013

Today, Intelligent Ink appeared in the NZ Herald. It’s not the first media clipping we’ve ever had… But it did feel like a bit of a big deal.

I’m not sure if it’s the childhood journalist dream in me, or if this is a normal reaction, but there’s something about seeing your name in print. Is it the sense of celebrity? The idea that you matter enough to have been written about? And as a feature article, no less. This is no small feat in a time when we’re getting so well versed in 160 character snippets.

It’s weird that this still has the ability to give us such a thrill though. With social media and the proliferation of the self-publishing industry, it’s fairly easy nowadays to ensure that your view of the world sees the public light of day.

We can easily make ourselves feel special. It seems there’s something to be said for when someone else publishes it though…

Suffice to say, it was all smiles and an electric buzz of excitement around the Intelligent Ink offices this afternoon. We’re not sure what, where or when our next PR stint will be… In the meantime, we’ll continue on doing our bit for our fantastic clients in the media.

For a moment though, we’ll celebrate this little success ourselves.
